A team from the Environmental Analysis Department of the Canary Islands Institute of Technology (ITC) carried out a technical visit to the Laboratory of Stable Isotopes and Mass Spectrometry (LISEEM), located at the Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries Research and Training (IFAPA) in Alameda del Obispo, Córdoba. This visit was conducted within the framework of the GO-TRAZCAN project (Measure 16 of the Canary Islands Rural Development Programme, EAFRD 2014–2020) and the NATUR-EXT project (Interreg MAC 2024–2027), and aims to strengthen Activity 1.3 of the NATUR-EXT project, focused on traceability studies.
LISEEM is a reference center in the use of isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS), a key technique for authentication in the agri-food industry and food quality control, which will be applied within the aforementioned activity.
During the visit, the participating technicians had the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of the laboratory’s facilities and methodologies, as well as to exchange expertise with LISEEM specialists.
